giving back

I wanted to continue one of my inspirations behind A Cut Above Handcrafted Décor – giving. It’s a tradition I started when my daughter was younger, thus it was important for me to incorporate it into my business plan.

My dad is a Marine who served in Vietnam. He has been a huge influence and role model for me and my daughter, Megan. Since his retirement, he became a member of his local Marine Corps League raising money for disabled veterans (and any veteran that needs help), those on active duty, the local Boy Scouts, Toys for Tots, and less fortunate children. He touches so many lives with his acts of kindness and integrity yet expects nothing in return. Therefore, when considering which organization to donate part of my sales, the decision was easy. Unfortunately, the organization closed in early 2019.

In August 2019, while changing platforms and rebuilding my website, it was important for me to continue giving with each sale. I wanted to donate to non-profits that were not only important to me, but that you, my customer, also had a say about where the proceeds would be allocated. Therefore, instead of choosing on one organization, I decided on a few. Three percent (3%) of each sale will go to the following organizations based on your choice during checkout. By default, the donation will be divided equally among the nonprofits unless you select one specifically.

Cancer Research Institute:
Disabled American Veterans:
Great Cleveland Food Bank:
Love a Stray:
National Alliance on Mental Health:
The Nature Conservancy:

Let’s make a difference together.
